Meet AFS Cooling in Hall 6, Booth 6-127

Chillventa 2026 will bring more than 1,100 exhibitors and 200 specialist presentations to Exhibition Center Nuremberg from 13 to 15 October. Refrigeration technology, the transition to low-GWP refrigerants and industrial decarbonisation will be central themes across the event.

As the industry prepares for the steep 2027 EU F-gas phase-down step and expanding carbon-tracking rules, operational compliance and energy commodity sourcing are increasingly central to maintaining market access. AFS Cooling, backed by the full market breadth of AFS Energy, will meet with equipment OEMs, gas distributors and corporate sustainability leaders to review their regulatory and environmental commodity requirements.

‍

F gas compliance and refrigerant supply

AFS Cooling’s F-gas desk provides end-to-end support to companies importing refrigerant gas or exporting pre-charged equipment into European, British, US and Australian markets. This includes sourcing official HFC quota allocations through the EU F-gas Portal, the UK Environment Agency Registry and the US EPA AIM Act framework, as well as arranging pre-charged equipment authorisations and delegations for global OEMs.

To help companies secure quota ahead of customs clearance without tying up working capital, the desk offers tailored liquidity and payment solutions. It also takes full ownership of mandatory annual portal filings ahead of the 31 March deadline and manages accredited third-party verifiers for the independent verification audit on 30 April.

Quota-cleared refrigerant supply is available in bulk, including ISO tanks and full container loads (FCL). The range includes virgin HFCs R-134a, R-32, R-410A, R-125, R-404A and R-407C, alongside lower-GWP blends, HFOs and natural refrigerants such as R-744, ammonia (R-717) and propane (R-290).

Environmental and energy commodities

Visitors can also connect their cooling strategy with more than 40 environmental market products managed by AFS Energy. This includes support with CBAM risk management and carbon compliance, helping companies hedge border-carbon exposure under the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. AFS Energy also provides access to spot, forward and futures contracts for EU Allowances (EUAs), UK ETS and Swiss ETS through direct electronic trading platforms.

For renewable electricity, AFS Energy sources Guarantees of Origin (GOs), UK REGOs, North American RECs and I-RECs to verify renewable power use, alongside structured long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The team also helps monetise and trade energy savings through Spain’s Certificados de Ahorro Energético (CAEs), France’s CEE, Italy’s TEE and Polish efficiency schemes.

The wider portfolio includes grid-injected biomethane and Bio-LNG, as well as transport credit mechanisms such as Dutch ERE units, German THQ quotas, UK RTC fuel certificates and US RINs and LCFS credits. For carbon management, AFS Energy implements the ISO 14064-1-validated AFS Carbon Dashboard for CSRD and GHG Protocol compliance, alongside verified avoidance and removal credit portfolios in the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM).
